Proper concert dress is formal attire. The concert stage is not the place to make a personal fashion statement. It is the place where we come together as a group to perform. We should appear polished and professional. Nothing should be worn that distracts the audience from the enjoyment of the sounds we produce. For that reason the following standards have been established and will be strictly enforced. Not adhering to these standards will result in removal from the performance without the opportunity to make up the grade.

Black Dresses for Women’s Chorus and Chorale

choirattiredressAll girls in Women’s Chorus and Chorale will be provided with a performance dress and a fitting.  An optional $15 annual donation is suggested which helps us maintain the dress inventory. Should you wish to own your dress, a new dress can be purchased for $65. As always, a donation or purchase will never affect a student’s grade, nor her ability to participate in a choral ensemble.

Please hem the performance dress one inch above the floor with performance shoes on.  Please instruct your tailor that fabric may not be cut from the dress. This allows the hem to be raised or lowered in the future. With the exception of the hem, no other alterations are allowed on the dress.

  • Please do not cut out tags or interior hanger straps.
  • Dresses are machine washable in cold water. Tumble dry on low.
  • Dresses will be issued when the dress form has been signed and returned.
